Oglethorpe Power announced $75,000 in community contributions at its May 7, 2026 Monroe County groundbreaking.
The gifts included $50,000 for a public walking trail and $25,000 for industrial equipment supporting skilled trades education at the College & Career Academy.
The contributions connect the company’s local investment with two everyday community priorities: places for recreation and opportunities to build practical career skills.
Together, the announced contributions support community spaces and technical education as the company moves forward with its Monroe County energy project.
