Monroe County is developing a comprehensive plan for 2027–2047, with work underway alongside Goodwyn Mills Cawood, according to WGXA’s August 18, 2026 reporting.

The process brings transportation, economic development, housing, recreation, environmental considerations and broadband into a long-range discussion about the county’s future. Input from residents and businesses is part of that work.

For local employers and people considering investment in Monroe County, the planning process offers a way to understand the questions that will shape growth: how people travel, where they live and work, and how community services and infrastructure develop.

The plan remains in development. Residents and business owners can follow county announcements for confirmed opportunities to participate as the process moves forward.
