Due to the lower "cost" of living, Monroe County has a very high "standard" of living. Monroe county residents enjoy a variety of unqiue restaurants, retail shopping, and entertainment.
High Falls State Park offers a 650-acre lake, hiking trails, miniature golf, a swimming pool and a dramatic waterfall on the towaliga River. Lake Juliette is a spectacular 3,600-acre lake with 62 miles of shoreline. The bald eagle has also chosen Lake Juliette as a nesting site and is monitored by natural resource experts.
Monroe County is designated for public hunting, boating, sailing and some of the best fishing in the state. The area also boasts a year-round public 18-hole golf course, a nearby semi-private 18-hole course with driving range, putting green and Olympic-size swimming pool, numerous hunting clubs, public hunting preserves and access to abundant white-tail deer, turkey, quail, rabbit, squirrel and more.
